Here is a cool video from when I lived in Costa Rica! My friend Fran is an expert of this system. I translated many readings for him and I thought it was a really neat system.
The tonalamatl [toːnaˈlaːmatɬ] is a divinatory almanac used in central Mexico in the decades, and perhaps centuries, leading up to the Spanish conquest. The word itself is Nahuatl in origin, meaning "pages of days". The tonalamatl was structured around the sacred 260-day year, the tonalpohualli.
We will not be studying it but it is very interesting to learn some about these ancient systems.
